Four Winds-Birds!
In math we often play games that reinforce skills.
This game was about adding and subtracting double digit numbers.
This month, children are being introduced to the metric system.
Reading Series Books-looking for context clues that teach us how to read a book.
These are examples they found. Can you find the context clues?
WIN time -whole team kick off of our new fairy tale unit!
Ask your child if he/she can tell you some of the elements found in most fairy tales.
Students paired up and tried to figure out what fairy tale a simple image was representing. It was SO fun!
Next week we will begin a Fairy Tale Reader's Theater Focus during WIN time.
Small groups will practice short plays and perform for each other before vacation.
One goal is to build fluency as readers.
We practiced reading 2 person short plays with a partner from Mrs. Filardi's class.
Our two classes work so well together! They are an amazing team of kids.
And speaking of teams....
Michelle and I were honored to be the recipients of this year's Vermont Council on Reading's John T. Poeton Award. We had the opportunity to meet him-that's his wife taking a photo of the three of us together.
I could not ask for a better teaching partner and friend-
We are better together!
