We started the week with our Penny Celebration-pj's, stuffies and the movie Sing!
After reading our Scholastic News about Veteran's Day, we wrote thank you letters that will be delivered to veterans.
In math we created this Turkey Quilt and noticed a ton of patterns! Ask your child about them.
What do you see?
We are discovering the patterns of our number system.
Every number is made up of the digits 0-9.
We start with the ones family, then the tens, then the twenties, thirties....
There is a predictable pattern as we count.
Ask your child about what they notice!
These are the digraphs that we have been learning to spell correctly during Word Study.
Students brought home their most recent spelling tests with the answer key attached on Friday.
This week in science we learned about what makes something living.
During reading we are learning to retell books.
Our focus with Caps for Sale was sequencing the main events.
With Pete the Cat and the Bedtime Blues, we learned how to retell using a "script".
Then the students tried with their reading partners-it was hard!
We celebrated another October birthday!
Please remember that school will be closed all next week!
