This week began and ended with whole school assemblies as part of our Reading to End Racism week.
On Monday, Ms. Roth and Mrs. Sumner read the whole school this beautiful book:
and we saw a preview of A2VT who closed out our week:
Rebecca Haslam was a guest reader for first and second grade.
We continue to explore ways to encourage a growth mindset
In science this week we learned how to make sound effects with the help of the great website Mystery Science-ask your child how to make the sound of a rain storm and a ball dropping.
Then we experimented with volume.
Reading Partners working hard to grow as readers
In math we continued learning about measurement by measuring penguins and a student.
Then we compared their heights to find the difference.
On Friday we read The Sneetches by Dr. Seuss in our WIN groups and talked about how this story is about racism. We talked about accepting everyone's differences and making the world a more inclusive place.
We ended the week with the high energy performance and Q & A by A2VT
