First Grade Updates

 



Geometry Unit-2D and 3D shapes




Celebrating Black History Month for February and Woman's History Month for March. 




 



 

Kicking off Reader's Workshop!  
Each session begins with a whole class mini lesson.  
Then we transition into either Lexia or Book Boxes and I call reading groups to work with me.


 





New Science Unit 
Week 1 -Living and Non Living

We sorted living and non living things!

Week 2: Learning about how adults and offspring are similar and different.


Headbands- they gave clues about animal traits so their partner could guess the animal they had. 

 Adult and offspring memory game


Using Mystery Science to help a wild life rescue match baby birds to their parents. 


Ms. Betsy joined us to read a couple of books and led a discussion about appropriate language to use at school.


 

This month's whole school morning meeting was led by third grade.
We had a surprise visit from Champ at the end!
