Winter Fun!

As part of our Poverty Awareness work we learned the difference between needs and wants.

January in First Grade

 We have been busy!!

We eased back into school with some fun art projects!

Welcome 2025!

Social Studies in January began with us learning about the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.

 

We made Peace Plates.  What does peace mean to you? 


We listened to the song "What Can One Little Person Do" and wrote about how we can make a difference!




January is Poverty Awareness Month.  


We began by learning about food insecurity.






We earned enough Champ Treats for a celebration-read to a classroom stuffy!


 




  

In math we are learning about measurement and comparing using fun facts about penguins!



Solving number grid puzzles!

We have kicked off a new writing unit-nonfiction teaching books
