To kick off our Nonfiction Literacy Unit, I placed a ton of books on the floor and had the students sort them to create our nonfiction library.

We will explore nonfiction text features this week. Nonfiction books are organized differently. Some of these features help us find information quickly-indexes, glossaries. Others teach us interesting facts-charts, captions, maps.
Snowshoeing-there may not have been a ton of snow but there were a ton of smiles!

Mr. Bianchi introduced us to an app that prepares them for coding-so cool!
Mrs. Brady came for our last official Growth Mindset meeting and read us this fantastic book. I plan to keep devoting class time each week to Growth Mindset. In case you have not heard, Mrs. Brady and Mrs. Aldrich will be taking over Ms. Roundtree's kindergarten class for the rest of the year while she is home on maternity leave.
