Wrapping up our science unit

Before the break we completed our science unit.  First we learned about how animals use camouflage and mimicry to help them survive.  The students each made an animal that is camouflaged with a background. Can you find the animals?

Then we learned about "bio-mimicry".

Finally we put together all of our learning about animals and nonfiction features to develop a teaching poster about an animal.

Readers practice reading nonfiction to one another using a "teaching voice".

Partners also compared and contrasted different math strategies when solving story problems.

Do you know what a true math equation is?
We played a math game and recorded the true equations we found.

Two of our classmates led the school in the pledge at our Whole School Morning meeting on Thursday!

We ended the week with school wide "Exploratories".
Here is a group that created and performed a play.

Have a wonderful February Break!
