Last week of October...

Math Snapshot: Measuring with unifix cubes in trains of tens and more helps to build measurement and place value skills.

We finished reading Brambleheart.  This book had some powerful messages.
The main character Twig struggled to find his special skill.  The book ends without us knowing what will happen next.  The children gave him a name and backed up their reasons with evidence for the text.

Mrs. Huestis introduced us to a maker space activity-CD Weaving!  After a library kick off, we had two eight graders help us get started in the classroom.  It is challenging but fun!

Our next read aloud-another great book suggestion from our amazing librarian!

Team Time-we partnered up with a friend from Mrs. Filardi's room and worked on an American Symbols Quilt.  Afterwards, we stayed together and learned how to play a new math game.

We practiced walking on the road to prepare for our whole school evacuation.  The class did great.

Of course we also worked on a fun Halloween themed art project.  Witches don't always dress in black.
These witches are on a way to a witch's party-we zoomed in on just their party skirts, legs & boots:)

Until next week....
