Snowy week!

100th Day Clue Bottles-the students loved trying to guess what was in the bottles.
Thanks for you support with this at home!

Passing out Valentine's!

Multiple Pathways-students are taking ownership of the strategies that work best for them to add multi digit numbers.

During Reading Workshop, we have been learning many different strategies to become better readers.  I put them all together on a chart-pretty impressive!
Then I modeled how to set a goal for yourself as a reader.
First I read a page from a book aloud to the students and circled in blue all the different strategies I used.  Next I circled in green the strategies I felt I had to give the most energy to.  Lastly, I chose one strategy I need to work on and starred in with red.

Then the students were given a photocopy of the next two ages of the book,  As they read, they set goals for themselves following the same steps I modeled.  They helped each other set goals based on their own individual reading.  They did an outstanding job being self reflective!

This week we will focus on strengthening these areas as we read in book clubs.

Be the change at CCS!  We set three goals as a class.
When our pennies reach that line, we earn that reward.

We are still challenging ourselves to daily acts of kindness!
Ask you child each night about the day's challenge.
