Happy April Break!

What a busy week!

We completed our poem publishing projects.

We are hard at work on our biography unit.  Monday I read them a biography about Jacques Cousteau and they chose the sheet to fill out that matched the book.  Then partnerships were made based on book interest.  Partners are reading books together and then filling out sheets.

There is a common theme among all the books we are reading...

Our Plant Unit
First we are learning about seeds.
We sorted dried seeds.

The next day we compared a dried Lima bean to one that had soaked in water overnight.
It was so cool to dissect the one that had been soaking in water!

We found all the parts of the seed!

Thank you for your donations to this unit!
We started some seeds in our mini grow lab too!

Celebrating an April birthday!

The week ended with a Whole School Meeting where Champ made a special visit!

And a special second grade friend spun the wheel to find out what local charity would get the pennies we earn this year-the Make A Wish Foundation!

We ended the day with a school wide celebration. Children throughout the school signed up for different activities.  Here is the group I was lucky to end the day with.  It is really fun to get to spend time with other students at CCS!
