 First Graders In Action!

Ease in work-children continue to work on literacy activities such as matching words to pictures, handwriting practice or independent reading.



Science-how can we get a garden gnome's shadow to move without moving the garden gnome?  




We moved the flashlight!  This represents the same phenomena as our "spinning sky".

These books inspired great conversations about using our imaginations, overcoming fear and being ok with not being perfect.  





Math-building our understanding of place value with numbers using a number line, double base ten frames and addition equations.  The visuals help them see that our teen numbers are all "10 and some more".
