We have started to learn about the suffix -ed. When added to the end of a base word, it means past tense. It is a tricky suffix as it makes three different sound: /d/, /id/, /t/. For now we are focusing on the /id/ sound like in the word planted.
We also learned that -ing as a suffix means happening right now-present tense.
We filled our Penny Jar and got to choose something from the treasure box!

A couple of "penguin kings"!
In math, we have been learning about penguins. We have been solving story problems about penguins and comparing their heights. I didn't get any pictures of math so instead enjoy the cute pic above!
We are also learning to tell time to the hour and half hour.
We have also been adding collections of pennies, dimes and nickels.
The packing slip in our last book order got mixed up with a class from Texas.
While we each got our own books, we had each other's packing slip.
Their teacher wrote us a nice note and her students colored cards for us.
So we wrote back to them!
