Before the break we learned how to create shadows and tested what happened when we shined a beam of light on different materials. This week we our first question was...
How can we redirect a beam of light?
What can we see with a mirror?
Rear view mirror game!
Drawing one eye as we see it in the mirror.
What can be seen with no light?
We used "no light boxes".
With a flashlight we discovered we could shine just enough light in through the translucent tape and/or the cracks in the box to be able to see inside!
Putting it all together for a challenge....
can you redirect a beam of light onto a block to using 2 mirrors ?
Three mirrors?
Some even successfully used four mirrors!
Then scientists recorded their work in their journals.
The effort they put into this science challenge is a perfect example of a "4" effort . Here are some examples of individual effort charts that kids made during our weekly time with Mrs. Brady. Everyone brought theirs home this Friday.
