Happy Holidays!

All Aboard!  A CCS Tradition Continues
Even though Mr. Bianchi retired last year, he brought back his trains for one day-lucky us!





Poetry
Our focus this week was on listing topics that give us big feelings.  Then zooming in on a specific detail, small moment or object to write about.  We practiced writing about building snowman with our writing partners.


 Then we chose ideas from our lists.


  


Learning to edit our poems and focus on line breaks is hard!  
Here is an example.  The first draft is on the left, the revision on the right.

We also worked hard to use our poets eyes.  This was easier to do when we were holding an object, but much harder to do with ideas from our list.  Here are some:
 

  



Mrs. Townshend came to introduce "Mix It Up Lunch!"  Ask your child about it!

Biography Unit Wrap Up
This week the children worked hard to create a poster about one of the people they read about during our biography unit.
