We are continuing to read books in honor of Black History Month and combining it with March's theme of Woman's History Month. Here are some of the books and activities we have done.
We have started a five week science unit. Each week has a different main idea/guiding question.
Week 1-What is the difference between living and non living things?
Week 2: Animal traits-do all animal babies look like their parents?
Certain traits can help us match babies to their parents.
We played an animal traits game like headbands.
Students guessed their animals based on animal trait clues given to them by their partner.
Next week we will discuss how animal parents take care of their young so we read this book for fun:
Filling our readers tool kit to build our independence and skills
We learned a new strategy to help us add 9 quickly-ask your child about it!
Then we played add nine or ten bingo to practice.
This month's sharing is a great way for them to start to practice public speaking skills.
